Canaplock

CANAPLOCK is an eco-block made from natural raw materials — lime and hemp shives (hemp wood). It combines insulation and thermal mass in a single product, ensuring: both low  thermal conductivity and high thermal inertia.

Its production process requires low embodied energy and actively absorbs CO₂ from the atmosphere — fully in line with social and environmental sustainability principles.

Application

CANAPLOCK is used for external and internal insulating masonry systems, in combination with structural frames in reinforced concrete, steel or timber.

Also used for:

  • internal partitions – acoustic insulation
  • internal and external insulation and dehumidification of existing buildings
  • complete thermo-insulating systems

Installation

Blocks are laid using a thin layer of hemp and lime mortar. They can be cut with an electric or manual toothed saw.

Internal and external walls must be finished with CANAPAMIX 3 or CANAPAMIX 2 and CANAPASTUCK. Tiling must be applied over  a support layer of CANAPAMIX 2 – 3 or CANAPASTUCK.

Characteristics

  • Thermal Insulation against both heat and cold, excellent phase shift performance
  • High breathability reduces mould and condensation
  • Fire and frost resistant
  • Hygro-regulating: Absorbs and releases excess moisture
  • Improves acoustic comfort
  • Suitable for seismic zones
  • Low embodied energy, Ecological —ecological
  • Recyclable and biodegradable
  • High compressive strength

Warnings

Do not use below +5°C or above +30°C. Do not use on frozen substrates, during thawing or when frost is expected within 24 hours. In summer conditions, protect from rapid drying by keeping the substrate moist.
